2. Legal basis

We strive to make our website accessible in line with the applicable European and national accessibility regulations. The following are particularly relevant:

  • Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (European Accessibility Act, EAA), applicable since 28 June 2025;
  • transposed in Germany by the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) and the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz-Verordnung (BFSGV);
  • the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 (as amended), which for web content refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.

As ownCloud.online is an electronically provided service with online contract conclusion (e-commerce), we align with the requirements of the EAA/BFSG and with WCAG 2.1 AA / EN 301 549.

3. Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA / EN 301 549. „Partially conformant” means that some content does not yet fully meet the requirements; the items listed below are currently being remediated.

4. Non-accessible content

The following content is not yet fully accessible for the reasons given. The underlying WCAG success criterion is shown in parentheses.

  • Colour contrast (1.4.3 – Contrast, Minimum):
    • Finding: Text, links and controls in the brand colour (teal) as well as white text on teal buttons partly do not reach the required contrast ratio of 4.5:1.
    • Status: Planned remediation [Q3 2026].
  • Keyboard focus (2.4.7 – Focus Visible):
    • Finding: The visible focus indicator is not consistently clearly recognisable.
    • Status: Planned remediation [Q3 2026].
  • Form fields in the order/registration process (1.3.1, 3.3.2, 4.1.2):
    • Finding: Some fields (e.g. desired domain, telephone number) are not yet programmatically labelled.
    • Status: Planned remediation [Q3 2026].
  • Heading structure (1.3.1):
    • Finding: On some pages the heading hierarchy (H1–H6) is not yet consistently logical.
    • Status: Planned remediation [Q3 2026].
  • Uniqueness of technical identifiers (4.1.1):
    • Finding: Duplicate element IDs occur in some places.
    • Status: Planned remediation [Q3 2026].
  • Text over background images (1.4.3):
    • Finding: In banner/hero areas, the contrast between text and background image is still being reviewed and improved where necessary.
    • Status: Under review.

Status of the list of deficiencies: 14 June 2026. This list is updated on an ongoing basis.

5. Preparation of this statement

This statement was created on 14 June 2026.

The conformance assessment is based on a self-assessment by BW-Tech GmbH, carried out using automated testing tools (contrast, structure, alternative-text, form and language checks) combined with manual tests (keyboard operation, zoom/reflow, assistive technologies).

Last review of the content: 14 June 2026. The statement is reviewed and updated at least annually and whenever the website changes significantly.

6. Feedback and contact (report barriers)

Have you noticed barriers, or do you need information in an accessible format? Please let us know – we are happy to help and will provide requested content in an accessible format on request.
